Don't Reference Serial Killers

This popped up in my WORK email the other day... it was preceded by four online messages in a 24 hour period, a Facebook friend request (and message that I hadn't discovered, yet) and a LinkedIn message.  Im very sure I never "favorited" him since I don't favorite anyone.  While I have to admire his persistence, there also comes a point that you should just stop and wait to see if you hear from me, I would put that limit at 3 attempts to contact me.  I will admit that after the four messages and the Facebook request, I did block him on the dating site, it is too bad he didn't stop there.

Hi,

I’m (Guy's name here).  I hope you don’t mind me emailing you like this.  I know this is your work email, so this will be the only message I send, unless you want me to respond back to it.  I know how workplace email monitoring can be, especially with messages of a personal nature.

I liked your profile online and I was looking forward to getting to know you better.  I think you’re naturally beautiful!  I was happy that you chose me as a “favorite” as I did of your profile, but then your profile became “unavailable”.

I promise that If you didn’t indicate any interest, I certainly wouldn’t try to contact you.  It could’ve been unintentional?  (I’ve swiped right too often too, so I know a mix-up could happen.)  To err is human, to forgive is divine… but to really screw things up requires a computer.

So, I don’t know if *I* did something or if it was a strange website error (those things have happened to me before), but I wanted to find out if you wanted to connect via Social Media and see if we can get to know each other better?  Social media can let us see more of our personalities in our posts, likes, pictures, as well as a moderated chat & messaging function, etc.  Plus, it’s generally easy to completely block someone if they’re really harassing or stalking you.

I’m on Facebook and LinkedIn.  I did send you a LinkedIn request just to show you that I have a professional career that I’m building and perhaps we could chat there?  (Serial killers can’t be licensed for insurance and financial services.)  I sent you a Facebook message… but then I realized that Facebook just doesn’t send notifications of messages from people you aren’t connected with.  (I checked my own inbox and found about 7 messages of that nature myself.)

Here are my links to prove that I’m a real person.

Of course, you can text me at the number below if you’re comfortable in doing that instead.

But if all this is just too weird or too fast, it’s okay.  I’ll be disappointed, but I just didn’t want the opportunity to get to know you to slip away from me.

I hope we can connect and chat sometime.  If you’re not interested right now, just let me know.  I promise it’s okay.
